28.05.2008  We are waiting for the histology results from Germany.
Up to this day we held preliminary negotiations with German clinics. According to the diagnosis concluded in Ukraine, they hypothetically proposed several options of treatment and prices. Currently, we have raised half of the needed amount, thus, we can start the treatment.

Today, we have sent the materials, parathion blocks and glasses with tumor to central diagnostic German institute (Medizinisch-Diagnostische Institute) for histological examination. The examination results will be ready in 10-14 days. At first they refused to accept Andrey for in-patient treatment, because according to the instruction, first of all they determine the diagnosis, decide on the suitable treatment, and only afterwards they invite the patient.

In this diagnostic centre the doctors will determine the final diagnosis, and afterwards two options are possible:

1. The tumor turns out to be the kind that can be treated without chemotherapy, at least at the first stages. Then the diagnostic center sends Andrey to one of the clinics that specialize in treating such kind of decease. If so, we immediately send Andrey and start the treatment.

2. The tumor turns out to be the kind that can be cured exclusively by chemotherapy. In such situation the doctors may not prescribe chemotherapy because the organism is much weakened, and will not withstand such stress. In such case, Andrey will be prescribed in-home treatment up until blood indices and liver condition normalize. In the second case, the doctors state that there is no point in taking Andrey to the hospital for rehabilitation therapy, because in the hospital he would undergo the same course of treatment only with unfamiliar people and a lot more expensive.

Therefore, we are looking forward to receiving examination results and further prescriptions of German doctors (to be more precise, Russian doctors who went to work in Germany). We put all our hope in them!
